Patients

Avero Diagnostics is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of patients and the physicians who treat them. We take a patient-centered approach to laboratory medicine. We identify each specimen as a patient. And we play a major role in the continuity of patient care.
What this means for you:
- No unnecessary or inappropriate testing
- Proper specimen collection, handling, and testing
- More accurate and timely results
- Better-informed conversations with your healthcare provider
Billing
Taking care of your physical health shouldn’t mean sacrificing your financial health. That’s why we offer the AveroCares program* and the NWPath Forward Program, which includes need-based financial assistance.1
Here’s how the billing process works:
-
INSURANCE CLAIM
After your testing is complete, we will file a claim with your health plan, and they will send you an Explanation of Benefits (EOB). The EOB is not a bill**.
-
INVOICE
In most cases there is no additional patient responsibility. If there is, you may receive a bill from Mattison Pathology, dba Avero Diagnostics or Northwest laboratory.
-
OUR COMMITMENT
After you receive a bill, we will call you to evaluate your personal financial situation, answer any questions you may have, and discuss payment options.
We’re here for you.
If you have questions about AVERO insurance coverage, the cost of testing, or want to learn more about the AveroCares program, call us at:
If you have questions about NORTHWEST LABORATORY/PATHOLOGY insurance coverage, cost of testing or want to learn more about the NWPath Forward program, call us at:
*Except where prohibited by law or by health insurance plan. Program availability is not guaranteed and may be limited or unavailable in certain states or under certain health insurance plans. Avero Diagnostics and Northwest Laboratory do not waive or cap patient co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance, or cost share amounts. Patients must meet eligibility requirements to qualify for financial assistance.
**If you do not have insurance coverage, we’ll bill you directly for services provided. You may be eligible for a discount if you choose to pay your account in full within 10 days of the date you’re billed. Please call the billing department for more information on self-pay.
